Let Your Heart Decide

10649941_367336086748010_2585277046155140172_n

I would like to express my sincere thanks to everyone who has purchased Let Your Heart Decide and to those wonderful friends and followers who shared posts and links via Facebook, Twitter, and other social media. It was greatly appreciated.
I've been overwhelmed by some of the fabulous comments readers have made about my taboo story via their blogs and reviews. I'm going to share some of the highlights with you in this post.

I would like to make a comment about the ending of the story without giving away any spoilers as several people have commented on it. I wanted to give my boys a HEA and to some extent I have done that, although I have left the future for them open. I debated over this issue long and hard as I was writing the story, but in the end I wanted the reader to be part of the experience.  Your reaction to the story is the reaction Rhys and Jake might face in the future from friends, family and colleagues.
I hope you 'Let Your Heart Decide'.

So, here are snippets of reviews and the links so you can read the full reviews of the story.

"So many tears. I can't stop crying. I just can't. The dual love stories of the brothers separated by a century and the ghosts just wrecked me. Rhys and Jake, and Samuel and Thomas were heartbreaking and poignant. Jet was adorable and the ghosts creepy and mournful. The taboo angst was sexy but not overdone at all. Very pleased. I need more from this author."

"Every so often, a book comes along that restores and redefines your faith in the m/m romance genre. This was such a book for me. It was sweet, hot, sensual, and suspenseful--everything that I need in a really great read. Yes, Rhys and Jake were brothers as well as lovers, but this very much takes a back seat to their relationship. The author does a marvelous job of not painting the situation with a sensationalist brush; not focusing on the taboo nature of it while not dismissing it entirely. I need more..."

4*
"I really enjoyed reading Jake and Rhys's story it was beautifully written, dealing not just with the taboo relationship but also the consequences and the guilt. The side characters of Thomas and Samuel was intriguing and I really wanted to see the mystery solved and how it was interwoven with Jake and Rhys's relationship. It pulled me in from the start and i didn't want to put it down. It was heartwarming and funny..."

"The love of a soul mate will stay with you forever...and the forever after. Two love stories intertwined, in the present and from beyond time, both helping the other to find their way back to the person they can't be whole without. A story of acceptance, finding peace, and above all else, love. Mystery and intrigue drew me in, and the loving of souls kept me there."

Reviews from Bloggers

5*

"The writing is very subtle in the book. There is no sensationalism, no tantalizing, cheap use of the incest theme to drive the plot. This was a very beautifully written book that tells not one but two love stories. It’s important to note that, unlike a lot of books in this taboo genre, this is not a story told for shock value. It is, first and foremost, a love story, not erotica, not porn on paper. So a reader going into this looking for taboo sex may find the story slow and unsatisfying. Don’t get me wrong, there’s sex. Hot sex. But it comes later in the story, after Rhys and Jake reconnect and fall in love again."

Heat Rating: Off the charts!

"This is a love with a HEA but one that we know will always have obstacles to overcome. I loved that it was a slow build it made them finally coming together so much hotter and sweeter. The addition of all the secondary characters was just as perfectly woven into the story as the rest of the pieces. Each bringing a part that was needed into the story from the neighbors to the ghosts they all worked to bring Rhys and Jake to their HEA."

~O~

5*

"A very powerful and gripping story where I was consumed by every word the author penned. Some will consider this taboo and not give it the credit it deserves, but in my opinion, this is a perfect reflection of love is love. A bond that is so strong that regardless to where you are you feel the pull and the need to be as close as humanly possible. Your sexual desires cannot be extinguished by any other until the two come together clashing teeth and tongues, pulling and pushing, biting and scratching to get every single piece of each other. I was completely absorbed with these moments and had to say to myself…breathe."

~O~

5*

"Ordinary everyday moments like taking a walk through the field are followed by heart-wrenching thoughts of forbidden love, by sweet memories and then by sightings of ghosts. I’ve never read such a fine mix between contemporary or supernatural. The setting the writer chose helps for it – the English country with its history which you can practically breathe in the air."
~O~

5*

"The setting of this story, in rural Britain, is gorgeous and I would love to visit the Hall and the woods, especially the little church and the grounds.
The plot is solid and not all that far-fetched and the pace of the story is quick enough to keep you interested, yet not so fast that your head’s spinning.
Finally, I have to commend the editor; they have done a great job."

~O~

5*

"This story grabbed hold of my heart from the first few pages. Lily G Blunt writes with feeling and sensuality, making your heart ache for the main characters, brother Rhys and Jake, and for the parallel history of Thomas and Samuel, brothers painfully torn apart."

~O~

4.5*

"The attraction between Rhys and Jake is palatable just as Rhys’s doubts and hesitations make perfect sense. Their reunion after two years apart and their journey back towards each other had me on the edge of my seat even more than the ghostly part of the story had. While the mystery certainly captivated me I couldn’t wait to see when and how Rhys and Jake would find a way to be all they were destined to become."

~O~

4.5*

"This was a beautifully written and thoughtful story. The relationship between the brothers takes center stage, with the ghost story complementing it. I didn’t feel the romance was played for shock value, but it felt organic and pure as any other two men falling for each other. The brothers reminisce about growing up together and through that the reader is given good insight into the closeness the two always shared, their sexual explorations as teens sharing a bedroom and how it continued into adulthood."

~O~

"I loved the way the story was a contemporary story but hinted at paranormal elements. The historical components were also fascinating, weaved through the story as Rhys finds about the area he has moved in to. So as you read the book you learn about Rhys and his relationship with his brother and about him forging new friendships as he moves back to town after a two year absence. Alongside this is the story of the family who used to live in the Hall, a grand house nearby."

The door opened, and a skinny geek with specs faced me. Thinking I had the wrong house, and worried that the boy’s father had made the appointment, I floundered. Now, that will be awkward. How’s he planning to get his kid out of the house?

“Excuse me. I’m looking for Andy. Is he here?”

The boy flushed bright red and pushed up his black-framed glasses. “That’s me, I’m Andy Parker. You have the right address.”

You’ve got to be kidding me.

“Okay, son! How old are you?” He didn’t look a day over fifteen.

His eyes widened, but his gaze didn’t leave mine. He bristled a little, rising to his full height. “I’m eighteen. Nineteen in three months. I can show you my ID, if you like.” He looked beyond my shoulder, then ushered me hastily inside.

I followed him to the kitchen. “I’m Tyrone, by the way.”

He hadn’t even asked my name. I could have been any weirdo coming into his home. I guessed he recognized me from my online photos or my porn videos. Whatever. It looked like he was expecting me anyway.

"This novella is a sexy, short read that is a little delicious treat.  Ty was cute and likable, and I appreciate that this had a cute HEA but didn't avoid the complexities that come with a character who is in porn and escort services.  Andy is an adorable, geeky, and not very shy virgin.  I loved their pairing and their evolution.  Even in this short little gem, Blunt packed a solid punch!"

"I do love a story where the characters surprise me and not live up to the stereotype they initially appear to be. Both the blurb and the start of Finding Love had me convinced I was dealing with a cocky porn star who knows it all and a shy, inexperienced and maybe even submissive student. And both Ty and Andy live up to their stereotype nicely…or do they? Is Ty really as sure of himself and what he wants as he thinks he is? And could Andy possibly have quite a bit of backbone behind his coyness? I had so much fun with this story. Getting to know Ty and Andy was as exciting as Andy’s enticing introduction to the world of intimacy and sex was. This story is told from Ty’s perspective which, in this case, is exactly right. Watching Ty as he slowly has to admit to himself that Andy is becoming more than a client and, later, more than ‘just’ a friend was as fascinating as getting to know the real Andy was. This is a short story and yet it is not a case of insta-love. We follow Ty and Andy’s journey from the first time they make what is purely a commercial arrangement to the point where they can no longer pretend to be anything else than boyfriends. And their journey is intriguing and beautiful. Thank you Lily for yet another well written story and captivating read. I thoroughly enjoyed myself."

Praise for The Perfect Size for You

 Amazon and Goodreads Reviews

"Such an amazing story and one I was very interested in since I know someone in that business. It was a true fairy tale and I laughed and cried and never wanted it to end. Truly brilliant."

“A big fan and this one did not disappoint! Totally adored it and can't wait for her next book already!”

“I just love this writer... This storyline was well written and I loved each page.  I wish it had gone on longer too damn short!”

“I really enjoyed this short story. I'm a sucker for rent boys/porn industry stories and this hit the spot wonderfully! I really loved Andy and Ty together.
The sexy times were sweet and then hot! I'm really anxious to get to this author's other porn industry book!”

“A definite must read!”

“Lily's writing flowed well for me. She combined a nice mix of sweet and hot but neither guy came across as needy or desperate.”

“It’s a good short story you can read while having a cuppa. I'll definitely be reading more from Lily.”

After moving into his new house, Alex Sucre employs the three good-looking Fernando brothers as handymen to maintain his home and garden. He’s immediately attracted to Michael, the youngest, and enjoys watching his muscle-packed body through his study window as he works.

After a spate of burglaries in the area, one of Alex’s neighbors accuses the brothers of the thefts. Alex is reluctant to believe that any of them could be responsible, as their business is thriving and they appear to be honest men. But once that seed of doubt has been sown, Alex wonders whether they can be trusted.
Should Alex confront Michael with his suspicions and risk destroying their newly formed relationship?

cropped-Rainbow-Header copy 6

All it took was the clack of the garden gate closing. Alex Sucre’s breath paused, his heart raced. He shot a look from the spreadsheet on his laptop to the digital clock at the top corner of the screen.

Mmm… He’s early today.

Alex waited in case he’d misheard, but there it was, the gritty roll of the lawn mower on the path down the side of his house. Warm excitement rippled through him—his breath quickened, his heart pounded just that bit faster. He peered through the slats of the Venetian blinds strung across the study window and out into the garden, waiting expectantly. His cock stirred, a familiar and very welcome tingle. Alex was already anticipating what, or who, he was about to see.

Several whirrs of the motor’s pull cord rattled the near silence until it caught and the lawn mower burst into life, filling the quiet of the house. Alex leaned forward, adjusting the blinds, ready to ogle his gardener as he strode across the lawn. In his eagerness, Alex scattered papers onto the wooden floor.

Damn it!

He scooped them up and slapped them back down by his keyboard. Alex moved beside his desk, to one side of the window, not wanting to be caught snooping already.

Come on. Come on. Hurry up!

"Ahhhh… A short and sweet book to zap your endorphins after reading a long, angsty book. Or as I like to call them: Bathtub Books! A Bathtub Book is a shorter book that is perfect to read in the tub, before the water gets cold. The Handyman Can is the perfect length and sweetness level to let you relax and enjoy. Hunky handymen, sweet make out sessions and a bonus hot sex scene make this a win for me. Enjoy Alex and Michael and the off-the-charts cover-hotness!"

"The Handyman Can was a wonderful surprise. For a story only 38 pages long it was surprisingly full of recognisable characters and gripping storyline. I won’t go into the details of the story; the blurb tells you all you need to know. I will say that I got to know both Alex and Michael rather well as the story progressed and especially Michael charmed his way into my heart. I also loved Alex’s neighbours. They were an interesting, varied and recognisable bunch of people, just as you would expect in any neighbourhood.

I enjoyed the simmering heat when the story starts and the way it slowly built up to the steaming finale after all issues have been resolved. And I liked that this story provided more than ‘just’ a steamy romance; we’re also given the opportunity to enjoy a mystery with an action packed conclusion. Quite an achievement, considering the length of this story. Having said all of that, I did have one or two reservations as well. Once or twice Alex came across as somewhat condescending in the way he thought about Michael and his brothers. As much as it is clear he is head over heals in love with his handyman, Alex’s thoughts made me a bit uncomfortable at times and somewhat worried about their future as a couple. My second reservation is connected to the first one; Alec was very quick to have doubts about the three brothers even if he doesn’t voice them to Michael. These were minor issues though. Overall the obvious and very hot attraction between these two men took centre stage and kept me rooting for them even when it seemed as if it might all be falling apart before it had even had a chance to begin. Long story short: The Handyman Can is a hot, fast paced and well plotted story and as a result a thoroughly enjoyable quick read. If you find yourself with a spare hour on your hands I recommend this story whole-heartedly."

A love of art... A mutual interest in art draws two shy university students together. Ben admires Vinnie’s painting of the university building, so Vinnie invites him to an exhibition of his artwork. From a wealthy family, Ben purchases some of Vinnie’s art and arranges for the artist to personally hang the paintings in his apartment. Starry, starry night... Ben commissions Vinnie to paint his portrait, in order to spend more time with the artist. On the night of the sitting, Vinnie fingerpaints the starry night on Ben’s chest... and they kiss. They begin a relationship beneath the night sky, God’s own canvas. But every relationship has its ups and downs and so it is with theirs. When Ben thinks Vinnie spends too much time with a fellow artist, his jealousy drives a wedge between them and forces Vinnie into the very thing Ben dreads. Hold tight to your dreams... Ben and Vinnie will have to walk through fire before they can find one another again. But if they believe, and if they keep their faith in the night sky and each other, just maybe they can make their dreams of love come true.

cropped-Rainbow-Header copy 6

Vinnie led me across the room, pulling me by the shirt. “Lie back on the sofa for me and I'll paint you.” As if in a dream, I settled my head against one arm of the sofa, my legs dangling over the other end, scarcely breathing now. Vinnie knelt on the floor beside me with an open pot of paint in his hand. Teasingly, he dipped his index finger into the dark blue paint as if it were cream he would lick off. His finger connected with my skin and he made short strokes across my chest, the coldness of the paint making me shiver. Mesmerised by the closeness of his beautiful face, the view of the night sky through the window, and the picture forming upon my chest, I watched as dab after dab and stroke after stroke he built up a mix of shades, until a dark night sky with the moon and stars were there to be seen—a masterpiece, drying on the warmth of my blazing skin, a transient thing of beauty. His fingers skimmed my skin causing gooseflesh to ripple in waves down my arms and thighs. My nipples pebbled in response to his touch. And when he was done, his lips met mine in a languid kiss; how our first kiss should have been—sweet, innocent, and full of promise. He pulled away, smiling down at me. This was the beginning of something special.

Lily G. Blunt writes contemporary gay romance and erotica. She loves to explore the relationship between two men and the intensity of their physical and emotional attraction. Angst often features in her stories as she feels this demonstrates the depth of the men’s feelings for each other. Lily is forever writing imaginary scenes and plots in her head, but only a few ever make it to the page—there never seems to be enough hours in the day despite having left the teaching profession to concentrate on her writing!
Lily discovered the wonderful world of m/m romance novels five years ago via fan fiction and went on to write stories in her spare time. With the encouragement of her friends and readers she decided to publish some of her work. Lily subsequently self-published several stories via Amazon. She later published short stories with Torquere Press and Wayward Ink Publishing. Lily is excited about joining Pride Publishing for her upcoming story, The Handyman Can.
Easily distracted from her writing, Lily makes videos using clips from gay-themed movies and posts gorgeous pictures of men kissing or making out on her tumblr and Facebook pages. Lily is also an avid supporter of GLBTQ rights and advocates equality for all. She was recently a steward for Pride in London.
Lily lives in central England with her rather bemused husband and a ‘mad as a bag of frogs’ Shetland Sheepdog called Barney.

Excerpt from my story Over the Rainbow

At last.
Dorian Gartside let out a huge sigh of relief. He quickly dismissed his boisterous pupils and had logged himself off the computer on the teacher’s desk by the time they’d all noisily exited the room.
God! What a day!
Anyone who thought this job was easy should try teaching Pride and Prejudice to a class of fifteen-year old boys. And damn it, he still had a bloody staff meeting to attend before he got to go home.
Dorian scooped up his teaching notes and a pile of books he hadn’t managed to mark at lunchtime and strode out of the classroom barely missing two boys who ran past him. “Walk in the corridor!” he instructed the rapidly fleeing flash of emerald green uniforms, but to little effect.
Dorian sighed again and looked down at the books in his arms.
Yet another busy night with hardly any rest or relaxation.
He wished he’d believed the person who’d told him his social life would be non-existent during his first year of teaching. Marking, planning, staff meetings, talking to snooty parents, in addition to after-school activities two or three times a week. Bring back college days any time. At least he’d had something he could laughingly call a sex life then.
Thank God it was the October mid-term break next week. Time to draw breath for a few days at least.
Dorian slowed his pace as he passed the adjacent classroom and glanced inside hopefully. His search was rewarded, and catching sight of the object of his desire, his stomach fluttered.
“Hey, Dorian. Have you got a minute before the staff meeting starts?”
Dorian flushed a little and smiled. “Sure.” He glanced appreciatively over his mentor and superior, Mr. Leonard. “I wanted to ask you a few questions about my lesson observation tomorrow too, if you’ve got time.”
Mr. Leonard, Head of the English department, was everything Dorian wished he could be—and not just because of the expert control he had over the pupils. He was tall, broad-shouldered, and most of his exposed skin was covered in thick, dark hair that Dorian spent most nights dreaming about; he often imagined what the hairs would feel like if he ran his hands over Mr. Leonard’s skin and what this hunk of a man looked like naked.
“That’s fine, D. Let’s grab a cuppa and talk on the way.”
Dorian nodded and shifted the books in his arms so most of his suddenly bulging groin was now covered. The very thought of calling Mr. Leonard ‘Sir’ was enough to harden his traitorous cock at the most inopportune moments. He usually thought of Mr. Darcy and Elizabeth Bennett at times like this, but those thoughts often turned to Mr. Bingley and a very wet-shirted Mr. Darcy, and he was no better off.
Dorian did his best to concentrate on their conversation, focusing on Mr. Leonard’s eyes and lips as they discussed his lesson for class 5B the following day. “And I want you to speak up in the staff meeting today....”
“Yes, Mr. Leonard.”
“Look, Dorian, it’s about time you called me Mark. We’ve been working together for over six weeks now.”
Dorian smiled again, his heavy cock filling when his name fell from the older man’s lips. He’d never liked the name his parents had given him and had to suffer being called everything from Dory to Ryan in his teen years, but hearing Mark say it sent a shiver down his spine every time. “Sure. If that’s okay with you, Mark.”
Mr. Leonard—Mark—paused as they approached the staffroom and huffed. “Of course it is, but not in front of the Munchkins, though.” Dorian chuckled at Mark’s nickname for the pupils.
